Welcome to the winter 2014 edition of Hootfoot

2014 is just around the corner and brings with it lots of African diaspora dance activity. Presenting a number of dance works and showcases, our Trailblazers Fellows are at the forefront of this action. So you don’t miss out, we’ve compiled a list of upcoming performance events taking place throughout the UK, for you to add to your diaries.

In October we were informed of the sad passing of the great Cuban choreographer, Alfredo Velazquez. In this issue Sheron Wray pays tribute to this African diaspora dance master.

Before saying goodbye to 2013 we take time to look back at the third Bloom Festival which took place throughout the summer and late autumn.
