Welcome to the Summer 2011 edition of Hotfoot Online

Festivals galore, a slew of dance intensives, and student graduation can mean only one thing … the summer season is here. This edition of Hotfoot takes a look at the inspiration behind two summer dance programmes. A spotlight is also thrown on Cardiff-based dance company Ballet Nimba, one of four companies who will be presented on the evening performance mix bill of the ADAD Bloom Festival, London, in September. And we reflect on 20 years of intercultural exchange festival Tribe of Doris which, after almost a quarter of a century of providing a platform for African and African Diaspora dance and music, will be closing its camp for the very last time in August.
