ACE Dance and Music Acquires their own Dance Space in Birmingham.

“Freedom…Amazing” These were the words used by ACE Dance and Music’s Artistic Director Gail Parmel, when asked what it meant for the company to have their own premises. Jeanette Bain, ADAD Director and Dora Jejey, ADAD Communications Officer had the pleasure to get a tour of this space when they visited Decibel Showcase in Birmingham in September.

The new premises consists of offices a dance studio and additional storage space. This new acquisition is not only a welcomed relief to the company, but it will go a long way in fulfilling their vision through their ACE Youth Programme to nurture young people and develop them into professional artists with longevity in their careers. Ian Parmel, Music Director of ACE Dance and Music expressed that “Now that they have the space to do so, young people can come and rehearse and create amazing work”. It also heralds a new chapter in the history and development of the company. “It is an opportunity to really feel like I can now start to develop my ideas” says Gail Parmel.

It has taken 10 years for the company to acquire this space, but Gail says “We weren’t in any rush-we wanted it to come at the right time, we wanted to ready for it and we are”.

ADAD would like to celebrate this wonderful achievement with ACE and wish them every success as they enter into this exciting new phase of their company’s history.
