Welcome

Happy birthday to us. Hotfoot Online is one year old. Edition 4 is female dominated with performance reviews from Lindsay Clarke and Natasha Bunbury, interviews with Deborah Baddoo and Carolene Hinds and the final installment of the Diaspora glossary of terms from Thea Barnes.

A large congratulations too to Pamela Zigomo for the visible manifestation of months and months of hard work in the form of the ADAD website. A generous round of applause to her and the creative team who put together such a comprehensive site.

My overarching feeling is that the UK dance world is starting to believe in the ever evolving African Peoples Dance genre in more than a superficial (tick box) way. With ADAD underpinning that reputation, more can be done to invade the systems that exsist to invoke deep rooted change and acceptance of a marginalised art form.

We all need to contribute to that advancement in whatever way we can and so…

…I’m after your feedback again. Take a moment, please, to complete and return the questionaire included in this Hotfoot edition. It should take no more than twenty minutes. Read it on the Wassssup! page as without your comments, remarks and criticisms I can only guess that I am serving your needs and evolving a talk shop for the APD sector that is reflective of the issues that affect the genre.
